Gifts, Round 1

Two handbags, made by yours truly out of materials that I had on hand. Total cost: $2 (for a really great button). Amazing what you can do with things you already have around the house.

In the beginning ...

We all have something to give.

Started on 11/5/2010 when a friend offered to buy one of my handmade purses, I opted instead to give one to her. Just because. With a nice note.

From there, four more gifts were sent out. Or, they will be, anyway. This blog chronicles what happens when we recognize what we have to give and we act upon it. Celebrate your awesomeness and your talents. Share them with friends, family, coworkers, and total strangers.

For the lucky recipients of a Give and Get Give gift, your job is simple: share the love. Make something nice and give it (along with the delightful card) away. Replying to this site is encouraged. See what others are giving and getting. Let us know your story of gifts you've given or received.

Want to get in on the action? Bravo! Simply make something and gift it. Include a card so that the recipient knows to keep it in motion: Create it and Celebrate it.

Gifts for no particular reason are the best. What could be better than getting a pie, a knitted scarf, a mix tape, a pirate ship, legwarmers, soup, veggies from someone's garden, a painting, a car bra, a necklace, or some other delight that someone (perhaps even a stranger) made just for you.

Stories and photos - hopefully yours - to follow.

What do you have to give?
